Once per month, the monstrous and magickal Leviathan floats through town, dropping $SQUID on everybody who helps us build the world's preeminent decentralized news organization.

Several updates from the Leviathan ecosystem this past month:

We’re excited to announce James will be spearheading a new podcast among Leviathan’s fine video offerings on the subject of the OPEN Stablecoin Index. He recently joined us on a Llama Party on this very subject:
Auction Results
April marked the first full month of Leviathan News auctions, with an Auction contract forked from the Llamas. We enjoyed 56,657 of SQUID volume, which netted 43,489 SQUID for the treasury.

Development Notes
Among other updates, the latest build of the website boosts the available real estate for the SQUID Pass winner.
The newest build also brings improved infrastructure for tag management and display, some nascent web3 features which to allow future support for commenting and article administration on the website, and support for video. Feedback is always encouraged!
The $SQUID Drop
The April SQUID Drop has been sent, check your wallets! In addition to the usual distribution, we opted to dust all 916 addresses who signed up for our bot and registered an Ethereum address with the /ethereum command!

In calculating the SQUID Drop, we finally identified the source of variation some had reported in prior months.
How on earth do we run a legitimate airdrop when such variation exists? For this month we took several snapshots and awarded all users the highest value, subsidized by a hefty penalty on the devs responsible for the bug in the first place! Wheresoever bugs exist and are identified and squashed, all errors redound to the benefit of news editors!
The prior algorithm was phased out in May in favor of a more complex system that introduces a weighting system for different actions: including a penalty for approving news that requires retraction.
Future months will add yet more nuances, so we encourage you to register with our Telegram bot and type /regulate to toggle “regulator” mode and begin earning SQUID!

We’re so grateful for AIOZ’s continued support in our auctions, we urge you all to help us brainstorm ways to deliver them value by driving users to join their Discord. It’s a great project, a great community, and we want to find ways to support them inside or outside the context of our SQUID Pass.
