Dec. 18, 2023: Made a List, Checked it Twice ππ
Curve DAO to vote on who's naughty, nice... plus Curve Summit Taipei!
#TaipeiBlockchainWeek
For a year in which our stocking already runneth over with FOMO, itβs very appropriate to see the year wind down with our heaviest helping of FOMO yet, out of Taipei!
Until the videos are posted, weβre reduced to hunting for leaks on π to get a sense of what exactly happened. θ―·εεΈθ§ι’οΌ
Among the apparent highlights, an opening salvo by Curveβs chad-in-chief, which will certainly be a must listenβ¦
His excellency made an appearance to discuss the $stUSDT pool.
Chris from the Curve team not only organized the entire event, but hosted a panel. Looks to be quite a tall order!
According to the website, Napier Finance may also have been in attendance, as was Prisma.
A talk from James, the CEO of web3 marketing agency Meta CRM.
The leaked videos from the afterparty suggest the team was doing their Sunday best to outdo the La Degen party.
Looks like the event drew rave reviews.
The Politics of Recovery
From following the Curve social channels, we know that many Curve users have been impatiently awaiting a recovery from the CRV/ETH hack.
We join these users! We lost a significant [for us] amount of funds in this pool.
Itβs shaping up to be a Christmas miracle that the wait is nearing an end!
If youβre wondering why it took so long?
This abundance of caution is a major reason why Curve had been so good at avoiding these kinds of incidents in the first place.
Itβs not the easiest thing to track recovery amounts, including vesting for missing rewards, across Curveβs diverse and inclusive ecosystem.
Needless to say, itβs finally ready!
At the moment, based on current votes, it appears quite likely the vote is on track to passing.
We were surprised to see the proposal had vocal opposition.
Given our bias in favor of βyesβ, weβve done our Sunday finest to aggregate the βnoβ responses and present them in their own words.
Mich and the official Curve account delivered rebuttal on these points.
And a forum post would later be posted by the absolute best of the best, WormholeOracle, who detailed the mechanics in sharp detail.
With the pay-to-say commentary all being delivered onchain, nobody has posted comment on the governance forum.
One whale opposes...
Our own editorial slant is abundantly in favor of passage. If such a truly improbable hack does not justify dipping into Curve DAOβs ample treasury, then such threshold is impossibly high.
