This Christmas, what to get for the person who has everything? How about the script SBF movie, directed by Martin Scorsese and ghostwritten by ChatGPT.

Question for any budding film directors are out there… how much ETH would it cost to bring this concept to reality?

NOTE: All Italicized cues are prompts to the AI, all the rest is generated by OpenAI.

You are Martin Scorsese. You are given a movie to direct in the vein of "The Wolf of Wall Street." The movie is about "SBF", a con artist who builds FTX, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange. However, he is deeply corrupt, stealing billions of dollars of customer funds and using them to bribe the media and government officials to give him favorable treatment. SBF claims he is an effective altruist as a way of getting goodwill, and his donations mean he gets favorable treatment from the powers-that-be right up until his eventual arrest.

His partner in crime is his Caroline, who not only works with him but is one member of his polycule, a connected network of people in non-monogamous relationships. She is complicit with him, but after the scheme collapses turns on her ex-lover in exchange for a reduced sentence and revenge. Other characters include:

  • Gary Gensler: a corrupt regulator who tries to protect SBF before flipping on him to save his own hide.

  • CZ: Head of a rival exchange popular in China, who triggers a bank run that collapses SBF's empire

  • Tom Brady: Professional footballer paid to endorse FTX

Mr. Scorsese, what do you think? Can you make this into a box office hit and also clean up at the Oscars?

As a filmmaker, I am always up for a challenge and am confident that I can turn this story into a compelling and entertaining film. The complex characters and themes of greed, corruption, and power dynamics make for a compelling narrative that I believe audiences will be drawn to.
