Collapsing Your Country to Pump Your Bags
Is America lost, or is it worth fighting for it?
This is a game theoretical question for the cryptocurrency community: what is the optimum strategy for boosting cryptocurrency amidst national decline. Are we better served by trying to (1) improve the nation-state or (2) hasten its deterioration.
It’s a bit surprising we’re at the point where this is actually a close choice. Growing up this wouldn’t really be up for debate. Thirteen years ago, this result would have been impossible, cryptocurrency didn’t even exist. We’re already at the point where our allegiances lie with our favorite crypto projects:
Forever the optimist, my view is that improving America is the dominant strategy. I acknowledge destruction (an increase of entropy) is easier to achieve than construction (a decrease of entropy). Weighing both options, I feel that destruction would be worse for pragmatic and tactical reasons.
