Feb. 2, 2022: Fight For Web3 🪖🇺🇸
PAC/LEX Organize Action Campaign To Halt Disastrous Amendments to Reg ATS
This is Not A Drill! Americans have one month to save Web3!
Amidst the recent madness, you may have missed the government’s latest attempt to kill cryptocurrency. The SEC Proposed Amendments to Reg ATS are a quixotic attempt to destroy Web3 as we know it. This proposal could block Americans from, among other things, vital infrastructure like Etherscan.
This is a cartoonishly evil power grab that is both wildly unpopular and flagrantly in violation of the Constitution. Hence the short 30 day window to try and sneak it through without notice. The powers that be are hoping the comment process will be so convoluted that nobody would be able to figure out how to leave a comment.
They underestimated Web3 though. We will unite to fight this insanity!
PAC DAO and LeXpunK are partnering on a letter writing campaign to make it easy to make your opinion heard. All you need to do is:
Draft a letter with the help of the available resources.
Screenshot proof and submit to LEX’s Telegram or PAC’s Discord.
Receive a gorgeous NFT for your efforts (free, minus gas).
The NFT is designed by community member Zack West, a dreamer, designer, and builder working to help build a better world for everyone. More details at https://linktr.ee/alphazwest or alphazwest.eth. Credit to b_rad_c for putting together a website in no time! The entire LeXpunK Army deserve credit for getting language and guidance together in no time flat.
You may view more details about the NFT at the Github and Etherscan. The NFT is an initial mint cap of 1000 and will be turned off once the comment period is expired.
We’ve already updated our profile picture accordingly, and hope everybody does the same to build pressure over the next 30 days. Even if you can’t contribute because you’re outside the US, or don’t want to mint cuz rainforests or some FUD, rumor has it there’s a hack built in to browsers that let you right click and save NFTs as jpegs…
Here’s some more background detail on the initiative.
