What the ■■■■ happened?
I try to be wary when criticizing a new token launch — are we dumping on the next $CRV? Those takes certainly didn’t age well.
For every hundred new coins that launch, about 100 will get dumped on by the entrenched whale class. 99 are properly turds and the dumping is fully appropriate. Yet maybe one will emerge from the pile and reveal itself a beautiful, fully-formed chad. As more coins claw their way into the establishment tier, this cycle becomes more severe. Such is the state of altcoins in 2022.
Nonetheless, the WTF airdrop doesn’t have any appearance of being one of these chads in the turdbowl. The only problem the coin appeared to be solving was a lack of entertainment in crypto.
Yet yesterday was hardly lacking for entertainment!
Intentionally or not, crypto has already flippened Hollywood, at least for me. It’s been years since I’ve even watched a movie, which sounds like a dreadfully boring waste of time. Yet a three hour Up Only featuring Tetra? Cancel all my appointments!
Based on Twitch’s numbers, about 5000 other degens were similarly glued to their headphones. It’s mind-boggling just how small of a community it takes to flippen the world. It was quite a phenomenon to check into all the usual Discords and see them similarly live-chatting the UpOnly stream in real time and trying to leak the alpha. Sort of like the Super Bowl for our subculture (which I also haven’t watched in years).
