New Resources From the Front Lines of the Curve Wars
Did a lot of people resolve to build generational wealth in 2022? It seems the public is awakening to the Curve Wars following a wild 2021.
The influx of new interest in Curve is no surprise. Curve often acts as a black hole, both for absorbing liquidity, but also for capturing the attention of intelligent people.
With high IQs pouring into the ecosystem, weβre seeing a ton of new resources being generated to meet the demand to read up about the complex Curve/Convex flywheel.
Fortunately, Curve newcomers wonβt face any resistance from the old guard. People who have been around Curve a long time wonβt bother hazing newcomers. Theyβre all too busy tending to #richpersonproblems. Everyday nuisances like making sure the the paint on your helicopter matches the color of your yacht.
With a 300 year emissions window, weβre also all still insanely early, so who particularly cares if somebody was 0.3% earlier. Remarkably, Curve is only 2 years old.
Over the past week, several new Curve related resources popped up on Substack. If youβve been following this newsletter for any length of time, you know Substack is a great resource for writers and readers. For writers, Substack makes it easy for great talent to monetize their content. Hopefully this business model is robust enough to keep the user experience unobtrusive and friendly for readers.
At any rate, hereβs the must read list:
The legendary Yuga.eth, whose resume blends big tech bona fides alongside pure crypto passion, devoted the first post of his new blog to the Curve Wars. We hope this is the first of more great articles to come.
The Knower, a college student, also covered the Curve War in a two part recap. If college is as bad as it looks nowadays, we hope accumulating Curve wealth is the ticket to escaping that restrictive prison.
We donβt know much about Arthurβs background, but he cites himself as a βaverage floppa connoisseur,β and since we donβt know what that means weβll just assume heβs from a younger generation. His article gets into some good math, which is something you should learn to appreciate if you want to follow Curve.
On Medium, @Buffet Theory of Magnus Capital penned a thoughtful article on the mechanics of Convex bribening, one of the most interesting subjects in DeFi. Recommended by 9 out of 10 contraceptives.
Finally, James Bachini offers a detailed multipart description of Curve.
Alongside these newer offerings, donβt forget about the classic Substacks. The weekly Cryptouf newsletter does reliably great work covering all the big updates around the Curve ecosystem.
The Bow Tied Jungle also released a free post on the Curve Wars.
Better than most writers, the Jungle takes full advantage of the paid features of Substack. While we donβt generally offer financial advice here, we do personally believe that if you want to be successful in cryptocurrency but are overly stingy about paying for high quality research, youβre emitting heavy NGMI radioactivity.
To all the new Substack writers, a word of caution that SEO is a losing game. Trying to keyword optimize βCurveβ will put you up against some heavy competition.
If you donβt have the attention span for Substack, Twitter remains a decent resource for the time being. We never know how long that will last, so take in some recent threads:
Although when it comes to Twitter threads, nobody can surpass the Thread000r
2021 was wild, but from the looks of it 2022 is lining up to be a wild year for Curve. Trying to track the explosion of pools the v2 factory is about to unleash will be a beautiful mess, and thatβs just a piece of the action.
Finally, if youβve read this far, one last newsletter to consider.
Itβs a good time to subscribe. Given rampant inflation and Substack not accepting crypto donations yet, weβll be raising our price in about a week. All donations go to support PAC DAO crypto activism and the launch of their upcoming on-chain Congressional Scorecard.
Overall, make sure to like, follow, and share all the resources contained within this newsletter. Surely we missed several, so drop additional ones in the comments! If a large enough variety of content comes to render this newsletter obsolescent, maybe I can retire early and spend more time shopping for helicopter and yacht paint.
Disclaimers! Author does not own a yacht and helicopter, nor has any knowledge of any Curve user who actually owns such indulgences.
Happy new year and thanks for all the great articles! Canβt wait for another year and hopefully more llama background videos :)
