Describe Your Project
With both the Union and Pirex, you can enjoy a simplified, efficient, and potentially more profitable yield-earning process on your locked CVX tokens. The Union allows users to maintain full custody of their vlCVX, eliminating the risk of losing funds. However, users must manage their own vlCVX lock. For an even easier experience, Pirex takes custody of the user's CVX, though users can always initiate a redemption to regain their CVX. In the worst-case scenario, it simply becomes a regular CVX lock. Pirex also offers a liquid wrapper, allowing users to exit instantly. The system is transparent, with no risk or leverage involved.
Why is this important?
With the Union, users no longer need to claim and swap 12 or more different coins after each round; instead, they receive auto-compounding cvxCRV via airdrop. This not only results in significant gas savings but also provides a great deal of convenience. Pirex takes convenience a step further by turning CVX locks into liquid positions and also allows for the auto-compounding of CVX.
Besides your project, what are you excited about / watching right now?
I'm really interested in boring old DeFi without the ponzinomics, which might sound odd coming from me given that the whole Llama Airforce concept derives its value from multiple layers of token metagaming. As you might have seen in my X thread at https://x.com/0xAlunara/status/1816144636294914538, I use crypto on a daily basis in my real life. This means I primarily want to hold my stablecoins on-chain in a safe manner, earn some yield while avoiding extreme risk, and purchase everyday items without worrying about gas costs. This naturally brings me to use the old and faithful 'DeFi furniture' such as Curve, Aave and some other non-flashy stablecoin infrastructure.
What will the greater landscape of onchain finance look like in 18 months?
I hope the memes and ponzi schemes have faded into irrelevance as degens grow tired of getting rugged for the 50th time. With the advent of ETFs and governments slowly warming up to DeFi, I hope we can shift our focus to the stable, boring aspects of DeFi that I've talked about before. Mass adoption might not be exciting for degens, but slow and steady wins the race (or so I hope). Everyone should have no problem onboarding into DeFi—protocols should be stable, safe, and reliable, and the user experience should be smooth, even when hopping between chains to avoid gas costs.
