It’s been a few weeks since SBF’s criminal fraud was uncovered. Much of the Twitter reporting has been Pulitzer worthy, but the community continues to be frustrated by the disgraceful reporting of traditional journalists. In playing the accomplice, journalists are complicit in abetting one of the most utterly shocking, shameful, and downright evil acts our society has experienced.
Admittedly, the first few puff pieces were outrageous.
However, if you’re still feigning outrage every time a new article drops, we’re at the point where the blame is on you. “Fool me once, shame on you…”
The legacy media has revealed their editorial stance will be despicable trash. If you’re still falling for their tricks… if you are holding out hope that their next article will be better… then at this point you’re the rube.
It’s been weeks. The media is not changing their tone. It’s not that they don’t know their coverage is highly offensive, bereft of facts, and an affront to all thinking persons. At this point their bias is a conscious decision. If you continue to give them eyeballs and clicks by trumpeting your outrage at each new article, you’re a part of the problem.
Your best way to fight back is to block them wholesale.
Only an ignoramus is consistently surprised by routine occurrences. Instead of living in a constant state of outrage, it’s better to accept the nature of things and work to analyze it. Better yet, if you know that the press is fooling the masses but not you, this gives you information asymmetry to exploit.
So what lessons and inferences can we draw from the fact that the media is looking to profit from financial crimes?
For starters… you should financially support journalism that has a better track record. Voting with your dollars is a great way to undo the damage.
