Here are today’s trends to watch from Curve Market Cap:
Recently CNN, the universal authority on cryptocurrency markets, declared a bear market. Fortunately, that means it’s also a BUIDL market.
If, like us, you’re spending your weekend developing, here are some resources to build on top of the best projects within the DeFi ecosystem.
AAVE
$AAVE volume on Curve has exploded since its listing, currently fourth highest with $11M in daily volume and an effective max reward of >150%.
AAVE provides a protocol for liquidity options like flash loans with $3.5 billion locked. They have a rich ecosystem of dApps and integrations, developer documentation, and a bug bounty program. Their github repository also contains all their contracts and further documentation.
They recently upgraded to V2, which improves functionality around flash loans, consolidates from multiple contracts to fewer endpoints. They also added an onBehalfOf
parameter to allow debt-incurring flash loans for delegated creditors.
For an introduction to Aave for developers, David Truong recently provided this comprehensive livestream:
Synthetix
Without Synthetix we would not have Curve’s new cross asset transactions. The team tracks a wide variety of helpful repositories on its github page and provides extensive developer documentation and resources.
Their developer pages provide source code for projects including their live exchange, staking interface, and stats dashboard. The team recently upgraded to the Castor release, to improve gas costs and transaction throughput, along with other bug fixes:

The Synthetix team is also leading the charge to move to Ethereum L2, so it’s a great place to look if you are interested in being at the front lines of ETH development.
Waves
The USDN pool, currently providing the max possible yield on Curve, is built on the robust Waves platform that has a large variety of developer goodies. In addition to extensive documentation and git repositories, they also have a block explorer and browser plugins. This recent thread on their forum lists a variety of great client libraries.

Curve users are likely most interested in the Neutrino protocol, but Waves has a searchable dApp marketplace.
Ren
Ren protocol provides great linkage between BTC, BCC, ETH and ZCash blockchains, making it a very useful protocol for cryptocurrency developers.

Appropriately, they’ve built a great collection of developer tools, including their github, developer tutorials, a wiki, and developer chat.
They’re also soon releasing RenBridge 2.0, so it’s a great time to get started:

There’s plenty more resources out there for people interested in building in DeFi. Drop your favorite tools and projects in the comments. Don’t forget to check out the Curve’s developer docs along the way.
