Cross Assets Turns 1 Week

Much of the focus was on the successful rollout of cross-asset transactions, which has already seen some $10MM transactions go through in its first week:

The newsletter hinted that Paraswap and 1inch are likely integrating Curve’s cross asset service into their site. Perhaps this is what Paraswap was suggesting here…

We previously discussed the most recent FUD about Tether. Although the January 15th date bandied about as the end of the DeFi world is the fear merchants’ latest miss, doomsdays cultists have a historical tendency to shrug off missed predictions as but a minor human failing amidst a complex tapestry of beliefs. It’s a cycle as old as the Old Testament:

“If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.”

Conceivably the perma-bears will regroup and settle on a revised date for the end of cryptocurrency. “See, it wasn’t January 15th after all. The almighty Market has revealed unto me a far wiser plan for felling crypto. The rapture shall occur on the 2nd of February should Yellen witness her own shadow”

Whatever date the doomsday cult ultimately settles on, you may wish to circle it on the calendar as the date you’ll regret not owning whatever Opium uses as a governance token.
